Everyone knows you're much more productive without your computer. No ohnotheydidnt, underwear drawer, google, wikipedia, facebook, youtube means that much more time for focused studying. Unfortunately, our lecture materials are on power point, lecture questions need to be typed up, outside references need to be searched, and so, the computer stays and the internet surfing stays too. (I guess I could keep firefox closed, but that would mean I had self control.)
Our unit test on female reproduction/liver/GI/nutrition is tomorrow, and being the repro-phobe that I am, I put off studying female repro until this very last minute. When it comes to studying my LEAST FAVORITE SUBJECT ON EARTH, the temptation of distractions is so much greater. So, the computer had to go. In a moment of sudden clarity, I turned the screen around a little, and soon 180 degrees around.....and haha like I said, whoa!
I don't know why I never thought of this earlier! Without the keyboard there, there's space for BRS path and FA note taking. The screen ends up being closer, making it easier to annotate my questions with the stylus. And lastly and most importantly, I can't search for anything on the internet.
Hmm, this entry doesn't seem to accurately portray my excitement, so let me just say, I AM EXCITED.
Granted, this transition has been painful, so when it gets to be too much I can still click on my links to CNN, NYT and USMLERx. I can check my mail, even click onto Facebook, but not being able to type really puts a crimp in the internet surfing and gchatting.
Thank God.
We're almost at the 4 month mark.

omg your desk arrangement is genius. i wish my computer did that. the way i avoid internet is i turn off my wireless so i see "You are not connected to the internet." on my browser, it's like the cold harsh reality slaps me on my face.
4 months scare me.
How'd you do that to your screen?
