I started looking around for a suitable chair about a month ago. It's quite an investment, and I don't want to have lower back problems, okay? Officemax, OfficeDepot, bizchair, ikea...the works. I finally decided to make one of my spring break activities "try the chair in person day" so I could then go order the chosen one online. I found my dream chair after two trips, and it was on sale for $100, down $80! Adjustable arms, double pillowed back, waterfall seat, tilt control and lock equals love at second sight. BUT, I go home and find that the price doesn't carry over online because it's on clearance from the store. I call the store in Chicago and they're out of stock. Fine, whatever. Choosing a chair really isn't that big of a deal. I mean, there are thousands of chair online and just how hard can it be to make a comfy chair with sufficient lumbar support? So, I decide to just order one from officemax. The dimensions seemed good, price was fair, looked similar to desired chair. Nice deal.
Two days later: Chair arrives! Fast, eh? It's EZ set up, so I roll the product out and voila, it's set up in 2 minutes. Bigger and less fabulous than I expected, but it's aiite, until it dawns on me that I overlooked that fact that the arms are NOT adjustable and therefore the massive chair will NOT fit under my desk and thus, it'll literally sit in the middle of my little room like a centerpiece gone wrong and I will have to sit 2.5 feet out from the desk and strain my back while I try to lean forward towards it. NOT a happy girl.
Good News: Officemax said no problemo and is coming to pick it up on Friday.
Bad News: How do I get take this chair apart? Biggest lesson of the day: EZ set up chairs are NOT meant to be EZ take-apart chairs. It took me TWO hours to take the damn thing apart. Since there were no screws, no tools involved (EZ yeah?), the thing was locked tight with invisible mechanisms. So I had to look up the number for the chair company and CALL the chair company for help. They emailed me FIVE VIDEOS to watch to help me understand how to take it apart. So, I watch video clips of people hammering random parts of the chair and pieces magically popping out. Not so easy for me. I had to go borrow a hammer, then tool around trying to apply even force, balance the chair with my legs, pull up on parts with one arm while figuring out which places I was supposed to hammer with my other arm from the not so clear videos, AND not damage the silly thing. I watched chair dissection videos and wrestled with a chair. Yes.
Good News: Chair came apart after some concentrated effort.
Bad News: Chair doesn't go back into box. Insert more wrestling and lifting action.
Good news: Hours later, I am exhausted but done. Go me. Can I pull out my hair now?
Obviously, I had to rant about this chair drama to someone (ie. the person I borrowed the hammer from). He thought I meant Chair(person) drama or the drama I was going through as a chairperson of whatever club! *rolls eyes* fool.

You just wrote a short story about a chair. I'm impressed.
