I've been super glass half full for all my rotations so far. This is partly because I've been lucky to have great attendings/teams, but mostly because there's something to be learned from every single patient encounter. Medicine is fascinating. I remind myself that everyday as I chug along and so far, it's worked well.
Now, I have a big fat problem called female repro ambivalence. Last year, repro was the only subject I didn't enjoy. I didn't want to study it last year, and I REALLY don't want to study it this year. I don't think I've faced such a huge mental block since physics mechanics freshman year. At least back then, I hated physics because I sucked at it, and sucking at physics mechanics made me want to work harder. Not the case now. I don't get it! The fact I have a uterus myself means I should have an interest in knowing how it works, riight??
OB/gyn's definitely not peds/medicine/surgery, so I have this crazy idea that it is more than possible to get a good handle on the material in 6 weeks. It's going to be hard, but I'm just going to have to suck it up and study. Learn OB/gyn or die trying kind of thing. Study if you want to watch Gossip Girl? I don't know. I'm so glad this isn't my last rotation of the year or I really might just give up.

don't give up!! keep up with the vage!
i'm afraid of having ob/gyne/surgery at the end. your lack of motivation fears me into having the same ambivalence.
